PATAGONIA

Patagonia began in California in 1973. Its founder, Yvon Chouinard, was a climber making pitons in a shed until he realised they were damaging the rock he loved, and moved into clothing instead. That instinct — build the thing properly, then reckon with what it costs the planet — still runs through everything. Patagonia pledges 1% of sales to environmental preservation and restoration, and repairs what it sells rather than replacing it.

Yards Store is an authorised Patagonia stockist. We hold the range at 13 Old Bank Street in Manchester and 86 Pinstone Street in Sheffield, as well as online, and stock differs between the two shops.

Patagonia FAQs

Where can I buy Patagonia in Manchester or Sheffield?

Yards Store is an authorised Patagonia stockist with shops at 13 Old Bank Street in Manchester and 86 Pinstone Street in Sheffield. Both carry jackets, fleece and bags, though ranges differ — call Manchester on 0161 835 1211 or Sheffield on 0114 698 8085 to check a particular piece.

Is Yards Store an authorised Patagonia stockist?

Yes. Everything sold here and in both shops comes direct from Patagonia, with the full manufacturer guarantee.

What is Patagonia's 1% for the Planet pledge?

Patagonia commits 1% of its sales to environmental preservation and restoration, paid whether or not the company makes a profit. The money goes to grassroots environmental groups rather than to a central fund.

Can Patagonia clothing be repaired?

Yes. Patagonia runs a repair programme through Worn Wear and will fix damaged garments rather than replace them. Details are on Patagonia's own website, and we can point you in the right direction in either shop.
