Adidas splits its running line into families that each do a distinct job. Adizero is the fast end, developed at the brand's Future Lab in Herzogenaurach and built around Lightstrike Pro foam, a light and highly responsive midsole material. Supernova sits alongside it as the softer, higher-mileage option for steady daily training.

The Adizero Evo SL has become the pick of the range for most runners. It uses a full Lightstrike Pro midsole without the carbon EnergyRods found in the race shoes, which gives a springy but forgiving ride, and pairs it with a Continental rubber outsole that holds grip in the wet. At around 223g it is light enough for fast sessions while staying comfortable over longer distances.

Further up the range, the Adizero Adios Pro 4 is the carbon racer: a double-layer Lightstrike Pro midsole with carbon-infused EnergyRods and a forefoot rocker, made for marathon pace. The Adizero Boston 13 borrows those EnergyRods in a more durable build, making it a strong choice for tempo runs and long-distance training blocks. The Supernova Rise 3 takes the opposite approach, using softer Dreamstrike+ foam for easy miles and recovery runs.
