Saucony have dived into their archives to recreate a cult classic, especially amongst fans of retro runners, for the 40th anniversary of their much-loved Jazz trainer. Probably the most iconic shoe in the brands’ 123-year history, this sophisticated sneaker pays homage to its original form and feel that made it a favourite of runners and trainer fans alike.
Taking the clean lines and classic aesthetic of the original, the Jazz ’81 houses a whole host of premium materials and classy new details – essentially a premium version of the predecessor.
The upper is made from sleek and high-quality mesh and premium suede inserts that feel elevated from the standard Jazz. Features include updated contour lines, a PU insole, internal Strobel stitching and a moulded EVA midsole combined with an air-injected rubber outsole. Another small detail that adds to the premium look and feel is the omission of the S-stitch accent on the Saucony logo which makes for a more considered and polished appearance.
Two classic colourways are key to the launch in the Navy/Silver and Grey/Silver colourways, both available to buy now here at Yards.
