Here at Yards we have recently taken delivery of some amazingly good outdoor gear from Texan-based brand, YETI.
The brand was founded in 2006 by two brothers, Roy and Ryan Seiders, who were raised with a burning passion for the great outdoors, high-quality gear, and unfamiliar territory. Inspired by their teacher-turned-entrepreneur father who took them hunting, fishing, and traveling, they started with a simple mission: to build the world's ultimate outdoor cooler.
Something for outdoor enthusiasts and beach lovers (and everyone else in between) that would simply never break. A cooler that kept things ice-cold for up to a weeklong. Something the pair themselves would use every single day if it existed.
As stated by Roy, most of the coolers at the time were just not up to the job. “The coolers available at the time just weren’t up to our outdoor adventures – the handles would break, the latches would snap off, and the lids would cave in. Not only was it a hassle to replace our coolers after each season, but also these cheaply built, ordinary ice chests were limiting our good times. And that frustration led us to a solution.” Their dream was realised with the YETI cooler range, and the whole industry was turned on its head.
Product innovation would come from necessity and first-hand experience, rather than the typical methods of market research and data analysis. Something many companies overlook. Not YETI, as their products perform when it matters most – “whether that be an excursion into the remote Alaskan wilderness, chasing redfish on the Gulf coast, or just getting together with friends in the backyard.”
YETI’s Tundra range has even been certified as Bear-proof. Rolling Stone magazine said, “YETI has quickly become the best cooler brand in the world” and “YETI had an actual real-life Bear try to open and destroy the Tundra cooler, and a 500-pound man, with neither succeeding. A virtually indestructible build.” This must be the last cooler you ever need to buy.
We can surely state that YETI are the masters of the high-end cooler, and are also pretty darn good at bottles and other accessories too.Shop our full range of Yeti
